About Shan

Teaching Approach

How I Teach

Start with the gap

Before working on current material, we figure out exactly where understanding broke down — which is often an earlier concept.

Explain the reasoning

Every method is taught with an explanation of why it works, not just how to apply it.

Go at the right pace

We don't move on until the concept is clear. No rushing, no skipping.

How It Works

What to Expect

Sessions are straightforward. Here's roughly how things go from first contact to regular sessions.

1

Get in touch

Send a message or call. We'll have a quick chat about where your child is and what they need.

2

First session

A relaxed concept check to see where understanding is solid and where there are gaps. No pressure — we work through a real topic together.

3

Regular sessions

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions at an agreed time. Progress is tracked and you'll get a brief update after each one.

A few practical things

Location: Sessions are held at a branch of the Milton Public Library (MPL).

Online: Online sessions are also available if preferred.

Scheduling: Weekly or bi-weekly, 60 minutes per session. We'll find a time that works for your family.

Parent updates: After each session, Shan sends a short note on what was covered and what's next. A parent portal with formal tracking is in development.
